Last night was the opening of SONAR, a new A/V exhibit at Enterprise Square Galleries downtown. Good pal Parker James Thiessen has a piece on display: giant constellations and ambient cassette tapes. I didn’t get a chance to check out the formal program (too busy listening, watching and eating finger foods), but to me, the theme is how physical art in any medium can change with audio accompaniment. Very cool motion-detection-glitch-ambiance performance from Cecil Frena, among the circuits and echo taps.
SONAR is on until December 20.
